Adelaide River water advisory committee appointed
Members of the Adelaide River Water Advisory Committee have been appointed by the Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water Security, an important next step in the department’s development of a water plan for the region.
Water demand management strategy
The Northern Territory Government has released its water demand management strategy to improve efficiencies and reduce demand across 16 different agencies.
Last month, weed officers from our own Northern Territory Weed Management Branch, collaborated with biosecurity officers from both Queensland and Western Australia, to conduct field trials and release the long-awaited new biological control agent Stomphastis thraustica in the Katherine region.

Declaration of Darwin Rural Adelaide River Water Control District
The boundary of the Darwin Rural Water Control District has been extended to include the Adelaide River catchment.
Water Regulation travels to the Douglas-Daly region
Water Regulation have a yearly KPI to conduct 120 site inspections of water extraction licence holders across the Northern Territory (NT). Water regulation officers aim to attend a range of regional locations and recently attended the Douglas-Daly region which is an important agricultural precinct. Staff carried out inspections on current licence holders in the Oolloo Dolostone Water Allocation Plan area.
