Ichthys Coastal Management Grants

The 2026 Ichthys Coastal Management Grants will open for applications from Monday 15 June 2026.

The key objectives of the Ichthys Coastal Management Grants are to:

  • implement management actions that improve the conservation of dugongs, cetaceans and threatened marine Matters of National Environmental Significance and their habitat
  • enhance and maintain the capacity of Aboriginal ranger groups to deliver these management actions.

These grants are for both project-based work, and purchase of capital items, equipment and infrastructure.

The 2026 guidelines are now available.

The guidelines provide a comprehensive description of the grants program, including:

  • overview and scope of funding available
  • eligibility
  • grant process
  • application assessment criteria.

The 2026 Ichthys Coastal Management Grants will open for applications from Monday 15 June 2026. Please get in touch as you develop your project ideas for the 2026 round, using the contact details below.

All communication regarding your applications will be through GrantsNT, so please also use this time to review and update your organisational details and access before applying. As in previous years to be eligible you will need to be up to date with all your financial and progress reporting, so if you have anything outstanding please address as soon as possible, including by getting in contact to discuss any variations.
