About Buffalo Creek

Buffalo Creek is a small tidal creek in the Shoal Bay receives discharge from the Leanyer-Sanderson wastewater treatment plant.

The creek is poorly flushed and discharge is not readily dispersed, causing a build-up of nutrients and excessive algal growth.

A small area of the newly established suburb of Muirhead also drains towards Buffalo Creek delivering urban stormwater during the wet season.

The distribution of the data for all parameters is shown here as box and whisker plots.

For report card grades the median of the data (solid line in the box) is compared to the Water Quality Objective (dotted line) for each parameter.
