Join Alice Springs Community Clean Up Day 2026
The Alice Springs community is invited to come together on Sunday 17 May 2026 for the next Community Clean-Up Day.
Illegal dumping continues to be a significant issue across the Northern Territory, particularly around Alice Springs, impacting the environment, cultural values and community pride.
This clean-up day is a chance for locals to make a practical difference, reconnect with their environment and show that illegal dumping is not tolerated.
Join and be part of Operation: Don’t Be a Dumper (DBAD).
Whether you can spare an hour or the full morning, every bag filled helps protect our landscapes and keeps public spaces safe and accessible for everyone.
What DBAD is
DBAD is a coordinated, cross-agency initiative that focuses on:
- understanding where dumping occurs
- cleaning up existing waste
- preventing it from happening again through education, monitoring and enforcement.
Community clean-up days play a vital role in this effort.
The 2025 clean-up event saw more than 1000kg of illegally dumped waste removed from a known hotspot, demonstrating what can be achieved when the community, government agencies and local organisations work together toward a common goal.
