WMB at the Top End Native Eco-Fair
The Weed Management Branch (WMB) reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the Territory's landscapes at the Top End Native Eco-Fair, held at Jingili Water Gardens on the 23 August 2025. A participant at the event since 2021, the WMB continues to champion informed weed management across the Northern Territory.
Russel O’Regan and Gerald Danao represented the WMB, offering visitors a close-up look at weed samples, insects used for biological control, and a range of educational materials alongside merchandise giveaways. The booth attracted a diverse crowd — from gardeners and landowners to environmental professionals and curious visitors. From kids to adults, there was something for everyone.
Conversations focused on: reporting suspicious and invasive weeds, using weed identification tools, using the Weed Management Handbook, understanding biological control methods, learning about priority weeds in the Top End, and connecting with local weed officers.
