Unpacking DLPE in the Big Rivers Region
All DLPE staff in Katherine are now located in the Big Rivers Government Centre following the relocation of Water Resources and Weed Management staff from the Giles Street office.
Following several site visits to check out the office layout and facilities and the packing of numerous boxes of books, files and equipment, Water Resources and Weed Management staff in Katherine have relocated to the First Floor, Big Rivers Government Centre. They join existing Lands and Planning staff who have played a game of musical chairs with Department of Logistics and Infrastructure colleagues to bring all DLPE staff together in one location.
Having been located in the Giles Street office for 15 years, there was a huge amount of sorting out of accumulated items and disposal of outdated material, as well as some sad farewells to staff from other Agencies remaining at Giles Street. Staff are enjoying the great kitchen facilities, the proximity to good coffee and the supermarket, as well as increasing their daily steps walking from available parking to the office.
A recent visit by the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive provided a good excuse for those available to come together with a morning tea to hear about recent Departmental achievements and upcoming priorities.
The team look forward to welcoming you to the Big Rivers Government Centre next time you happen to be in Katherine or passing through. We are located on the First Floor and have a couple of hot desks available as well as a dedicated quiet room with a docking station and monitors.
