Help shape the Northern Territory’s future – Join the NT Planning Commission

Published

The Minister for Lands, Planning and Environment is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from suitably qualified individuals to be appointed as Chairperson or as a Member of the Northern Territory Planning Commission (NTPC).

The Commission is seeking to appoint a Chairperson and up to 5 members to help lead strategic planning for the NT.

As a Commission member, you’ll work closely with other board members, planning professionals and technical experts to guide responses to the Territory’s unique planning challenges and opportunities. This is your chance to contribute to the NT’s long-term sustainability and liveability and make a meaningful impact on how our cities, towns and regions develop.

We welcome people with skills and experience in:

  • Urban and regional planning
  • Infrastructure
  • Architecture and design
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Community engagement
  • Development or related fields

A broad range of professional and community perspectives is essential, and diversity is strongly encouraged. Aboriginal people with relevant knowledge and experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

Conditions of appointment, including an initial term of up to two years, will be negotiated with successful candidates.

Applicants must address the published selection criteria in their EOI.

EOIs close Monday 30 June 2025.

For more information and to apply, go to the NT Planning Commision website.
