New and improved camping options for Crystal Falls, Jatbula Trail, Nitmiluk National Park

New tent / sleeping platforms have been constructed and installed at Crystal Falls Camp site on the Jatbula Trail, in time for the 2025 hiking season.

Just in time for the 2025 hiking season on the Jatbula Trail, which commences on 1 June, ten new tent / sleeping platforms have been installed at the Crystal Falls camp site.

For most hikers, Crystal Falls will be the second camp site they reach on the Jatbula Trail.

While the feature of this camp site, as with all camp sites along the Jatbula Trail is the beautifully refreshing clear swimming holes, level camp sites are limited.

The addition of these 10 platforms will provide increased options for a comfortable night’s rest.

The works were completed through the Parks and Wildlife’s Minor New Works program for 2024/25, supported by the Nitmiluk National Park Board, with works completed by the Jawoyn Association Aboriginal Corporation, awarded under a tendering process and project management through the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure. Total project cost was around $370,000.
