DBAD survey results inform next steps in dumping prevention
As part of output 3 of the Alice Springs Don't Be A Dumper (DBAD) campaign, community survey results have now been analysed, marking an important milestone in the campaign’s evidence-based approach to tackling illegal dumping.
Initially released on 14 January 2025, the survey ran for 70 days and targeted Alice Springs residents. The survey received over 200 responses from the public. The feedback captured valuable insights into local attitudes, awareness, and behaviours around illegal dumping.
This data is invaluable in helping the DBAD team understand how the community perceives the issue, and where further resources for education or enforcement actions may be needed.
This analysis is now guiding the next phases of the campaign and will be extremely beneficial as the project moves towards output 5 of DBAD, which focuses on prevention and deterrence.
By identifying community intelligence and key concerns, DBAD can strategically target surveillance, education, and compliance efforts where they can be most effective.
