DBAD hits the Alice Springs show

Published

Earlier this month our team took part in the Alice Springs show day, connecting with the local community while promoting an important campaign to address illegal dumping in the region, Operation: Don't be a Dumper (DBAD).

The team joined the Water Resources stall, offering resources, answering questions and educating showgoers about the impacts of illegal dumping to our environment and our progress in implementing DBAD.

Through friendly and engaging conversations at the stall, visitors learned about the types of waste commonly dumped, the consequences for illegal dumping and most importantly how everyone can play a role in keeping Alice Springs clean.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the DBAD campaign, but to also listen. Many locals shared their concerns and ideas about waste management, which we’ll take on board as we move into the next stage of DBAD (prevention and deterrence).

We’d like to thank everyone who stopped by the stall and showed interest in DBAD. Together, with community support we are working towards a cleaner, safer and more beautiful Alice Springs for all.

For more information about the campaign, or to report illegal dumping, go to the Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority website.
