Australian standard for rural and urban addressing

The rural and urban addressing standard published by Standards Australia provides guidance and requirements for addressing authorities to use for assigning addresses, including naming roads and localities.

The Place Names Committee has responsibility under the Place Names Act 1967 for making recommendations about the names of places including roads and localities and it refers to the document when considering whether or not a requested place name is appropriate for the Northern Territory context.
